“Why do you have to charge a service call just to tell me what’s wrong?”
We get asked this question more and more lately, especially since some of our competitors advertise Free Service Calls. If you read the fine print, then you will see that so called ‘Free Service Call’ is only when they do the repair. The cost of the service call is simply rolled into the cost of the repair. If you decide not to make the repair, you will be charged their full Service Call fee.
Just like a Doctor charges you to see why you have pain in your big toe, our highly trained technicians must charge you to diagnose the problem with your furnace or air conditioner. They will arrive in a well-stocked truck, perform a complete diagnosis of the system and with the client’s approval be ready to make the necessary repairs. Most often the client will go ahead and have the repair done, but some folks like to think about it. Maybe they decide that they don’t really need the air conditioner right now and want to wait, or they may be thinking about replacing the equipment if the repair is costly and the equipment is older.
When thinking about hiring any Service company, keep in mind the cost of doing business in today’s world. Paying a modest fee for a complete and accurate job is well worth it.
