November in Indiana: Let the Holidays Begin

Whether you’re in the mood for a road trip, or you’d rather take a short drive across town, there are plenty of holiday events that will have you feeling festive and in the spirit. Here are some of our top picks:

 

66th Annual Christmas Gift & Hobby Show – Held Nov. 11-15 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, this event has been ranked as one of Indianapolis’ top holiday attractions by USA Today’s 10 Best Readers’ Choice. Attendees can visit over 350 exhibitor booths, and experience specialty foods and Indiana wines. Everything from crafts and jewelry, to gifts and more are featured at this, one of the Midwest’s largest holiday shows. Special features include: daily visits with Santa and live reindeer, $10,000 in Merry Money and prize giveaways, performances and storytelling by fairytale princesses, exhibitor coupons, concerts, adoptable pets, Christmas Café & libations, and more. Christmas in Pendleton – Downtown Pendleton will host its annual Open House on Nov. 14 for some shopping, a parade, pictures with Santa and the lighting of the Christmas Tree. Vendor booths will be open from 9 am – 4 pm, and there will be a Kids Zone and the crowning of the Snow Queen. Check out more details here.

 

French Lick Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremonies – Join in the celebration Nov. 20-21 as French Lick Resort lights the beautifully decorated hotels, grounds and Christmas trees. Friday evening enjoy festivities at French Lick Springs Hotel with Santa & Mrs. Claus, carols, and fireworks. Saturday evening marvel in the glitz and glam of the Christmas tree inside the Atrium of West Baden Springs Hotel. This weekend begins “50 Days of Lights” at French Lick Resort, where you can experience two magical villages sitting next to each other, filled with sparkling lights and wondrous displays, larger-than-life holiday trees, music of the season filling the air and holiday treats to tempt every taste bud. Holidaze Arts & Crafts Show – Come check out the holiday extravaganza in Valparaiso Nov. 21-22, where the holiday shopping seasons begins early with this show set to feature 180 arts and crafts vendors from 5 states selling thousands of beautiful items. Santa Claus Land of Lights – You can learn the shining story of Rudolph told through thousands of brilliant LED lights and hundreds of light displays and storyboards Nov. 25-29 in Santa Claus, Ind. The Santa Claus Land of Lights is a 1.2-mile driving journey located inside Lake Rudolph Campground & RV Resort. Every vehicle gets one free photo with Rudolph. Cost is $15 per vehicle. Seventh Annual Hoosier Artisan Boutique – You can shop local on Nov. 28 and find unique gifts handmade by up to 90 local artisans and crafters, all at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds in Noblesville. From luxurious hand knits and bath and body items, to one of a kind jewelry and children’s clothing – you’ll find something for everyone while benifiting Toys for Tots of Central Indiana. All featured artisans donate a toy and the first 25 shoppers to bring a new, unwrapped toy for donation will receive a tote bag. Find out more here.
