Even though we’re all about keeping you and your family warm this fall, there are plenty of reasons to be outdoors in central Indiana – especially in November. If you and your family like to be active while donating to good causes, a fun run or walk might be just what you have in mind. Here are some of the scheduled races in the area.
Nov. 19, 10 a.m., Noblesville
The Frosty Paws 5K is “more of a fun run/walk than a serious run.” The course starts and finishes at Forest Park in Noblesville. The entire route is paved inside the park, and very safe for kids and dogs. The event will also have several dog-related activities and booths. Enjoy browsing around with your best-friend. All human runners/walkers receive a t-shirt, personalized race-bib, and a medal. There will be doggy-swag too.
Nov. 19, 9:30 a.m., Eagle Creek, Indianapolis
The Outback Scramble is a wacky, rugged 5k cross-country course at Eagle’s Crest, located just north of Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis. Participants should expect to be muddy by the time they cross the finish line! This event supports Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana.
Nov. 24, 9 a.m. Carmel
This 5k run/walk is located at the Palladium Center Green, with all proceeds going toward buying AEDs for Indiana State Trooper Patrol cars. This even is described as a “unique racing experience with your friends and family on the road, on the trail or a little of both.”

This will be the 14th annual Wheeler Mission Drumstick Dash, with proceeds providing meals and care for homeless men, women, and children in the community. There is a 4.5 Mile and 2.75 Mile Start, followed by the Lil’ Gobbler’s Run at 10:15 a.m.
